(wikipedia) Balarama , also known as Baladeva, Balabhadra and Halayudha, is the elder brother of the divine being, Krishna in Hinduism. Within Vaishnavism Hindu traditions Balarama is worshipped as an Avatar of Vishnu, and he is also listed as such in the Bhagavata Purana. Within both the Vaishnava traditions and Hinduism generally he is known as being a manifestation of Shesha, the serpent on whom Vishnu rests.

This is "ambali puzha" also known as "kunthipuzha"

The history of the temple goes like this about three thousand years ago this area was considered is "Tapovana " where saints and gandarvas worshiped lord Narayana the paramatma.
About 1450years ago one saint Brahmin worshiped and the pleased lord narayana agreed to stay there in "Chaitanya Bava "then years went away and the whole area changed as time went on.Once six brahmins from six families were travelling through the river by "changadam"a handmade "nouka"in the saraswathi yama heavy rain and flood appeard .Then could not find a way to escape .Suddenly two young boys appeared and escaped then from the crisis .As the brahmin were wise ,they understood that these boys were lord narayana itself in the shape of Balarama and Krishna .They arranged two temples in the near area (about 2 k.m distance)


Another believes among the people is when lord Krishna complained about lack of attention from the people due to lack of property ,lord Balarama sacrificed most of his propery to his brother there use and told to the people that he need only a hundfull of rise and a little .Brahmin boy for that pooja .It is belived that in twoo temples in a day bring prosperity and happines to ones life.

Hailing from silent valley three rivers join and flow from north to south in front of this temple .Here the river is know as ambali puzha .The same river is also known as thootha puzha ,which joining river Bharatha puzha .This temple is situated 7 k.m away from Karinkallathani in between Mannarkad and perinthalmanna.Five namboothiri families are the trustee of this temple .

The famous hill, where "Naranath branthan " rolled up the stone and laughed is near this temple .The stone is still belived to there.

At present the condition of this temple is very bad .The old structure seems to come down .People in this surrounding area arranged "devaprasna"and prasna parihara karma.The next aim is to repair the temple where severely damaged . After that navikarana kalasas kriya without changed the bimba will be performed ,for which mass co-operation financial help and assistance is required .The trustee and committe seek all possible help from all good hearted devotes.
